Billing Cycles

StatusDrift offers two billing options:

  • Monthly billing – Pay month-to-month with no long-term commitment. Cancel anytime.
  • Annual billing – Save approximately 20% by paying annually. Billed as a single payment at the start of each year.

To switch between billing cycles, click your profile icon and select Billing, then click Change Plan and use the Monthly / Yearly toggle to select your preferred billing cycle.

Understanding Your Usage

Your subscription includes limits on several resources. You can view your current usage at any time:

1. Click your profile icon and select Billing.

2. View the Current Usage section showing:

  • Monitors used vs. available
  • Status pages created vs. limit
  • Team members (for Business and Enterprise plans)
  • API requests (if applicable)

Free Trial

New users can try any paid plan free for 14 days. During the trial:

  • Full access to all features of your chosen plan
  • No credit card required to start
  • Automatic conversion to Free plan if you don’t subscribe
  • All monitoring data preserved when you subscribe

To start a trial, click Start Free Trial on any plan from the pricing page or your account dashboard. When the trial ends, click Subscribe Now to activate your paid subscription – we never charge automatically.

Subscription Status

Your subscription can be in one of these states:

What Happens When You Exceed Limits

If you reach your plan limits:

  • Monitors – You cannot create new monitors until you upgrade or delete existing ones
  • Status pages – New status pages cannot be created; existing ones remain active
  • Team members – New invitations cannot be sent until you upgrade or remove members
  • History – Data older than your plan’s retention period is automatically deleted

Your existing monitors and status pages continue to function normally even when at capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I switch plans at any time?

Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.

What happens to my data if I downgrade?

Your monitoring data is preserved according to your new plan’s retention period. If you exceed the monitor limit on your new plan, you’ll need to select which monitors to keep active.

Do you offer refunds?

We don’t offer refunds, but we do offer a free trial without credit card requirement.

Are there discounts for nonprofits or education?

Yes! We offer 50% discounts for verified nonprofit organizations and educational institutions. Contact our sales team with documentation to apply.
