Configuring Pushbullet Integration

StatusDrift integrates with Pushbullet to send monitoring alerts directly to your devices. This guide explains how to configure the Pushbullet integration to receive push notifications on your phone, tablet, or desktop.

What This Integration Does

The Pushbullet integration sends push notifications when:

  • A monitored service goes down or becomes unreachable
  • A service recovers and returns to normal operation
  • SSL certificates are expiring or have issues
  • Performance thresholds are exceeded

Notifications appear on all devices connected to your Pushbullet account, ensuring you never miss critical alerts.

Prerequisites

Before configuring the Pushbullet integration, ensure you have:

  • A Pushbullet account (free tier works)
  • Pushbullet app installed on at least one device
  • A StatusDrift account with notification channel management access

Step 1: Get Your Pushbullet Access Token

First, obtain your API access token from Pushbullet:

  1. Log in to your Pushbullet account at pushbullet.com
  2. Click on Settings in the sidebar
  3. Scroll down to the Access Tokens section
  4. Click Create Access Token
  5. Copy the generated token and store it securely

Step 2: Add the Pushbullet Channel in StatusDrift

Now configure the integration in your StatusDrift dashboard:

  1. Log in to your StatusDrift account at app.statusdrift.com
  2. Navigate to Notification Channels in the sidebar
  3. Click Add Channel
  4. Select Pushbullet as the channel type
  5. Enter a descriptive name like “My Devices”
  6. Paste your Pushbullet Access Token
  7. Click Save to create the channel

Step 3: Assign to Monitors

Connect the notification channel to your monitors:

  1. Go to Monitors in the StatusDrift dashboard
  2. Select the monitor you want to configure
  3. Scroll to the Notification Channels section
  4. Enable the Pushbullet channel you created
  5. Save your changes

Testing the Integration

Verify your Pushbullet integration is working:

  1. Go to Notification Channels in StatusDrift
  2. Find your Pushbullet channel in the list
  3. Click the Test button
  4. Check your devices for the test notification

Notification Details

Pushbullet notifications from StatusDrift include:

  • Title – Alert type and monitor name
  • Body – Event details and timestamp
  • Link – Direct link to monitor details in StatusDrift

Sending to Specific Devices

By default, Pushbullet sends notifications to all connected devices. To limit notifications to specific devices:

  1. In your Pushbullet settings, identify the device identifier
  2. Create a channel in Pushbullet for StatusDrift alerts
  3. Subscribe only the devices you want to receive alerts

Troubleshooting

Notifications not appearing on devices

  • Verify your Access Token is correct and not expired
  • Confirm the Pushbullet app is installed and logged in on your devices
  • Check that notifications are enabled for Pushbullet in your device settings
  • Use the Test button in StatusDrift to send a test notification

Delayed notifications

  • Ensure your devices have a stable internet connection
  • Check if battery optimization is limiting Pushbullet background activity
  • Verify Pushbullet service status at their website

Access Token errors

  • Generate a new Access Token in Pushbullet settings
  • Update the token in your StatusDrift notification channel
  • Ensure no extra spaces were copied with the token
