New to uptime monitoring? Here is a quick reference of common terms you will encounter when using StatusDrift.

Monitoring Terms

Monitor – A check that runs periodically to verify a service is working correctly.

Uptime – The percentage of time a service is available and responding correctly.

Downtime – Periods when a service is unavailable or not responding correctly.

Response Time – How long it takes for a service to respond to a request, measured in milliseconds.

Check Interval – How frequently StatusDrift tests your service (e.g., every 1 minute).

Incident Terms

Incident – A period when a monitor detects an issue with your service.

Alert – A notification sent when a monitor status changes.

Recovery – When a service returns to normal after an incident.

Status Page Terms

Component – A service or system displayed on your status page.

Subscriber – Someone who has signed up to receive updates from your status page.

Scheduled Maintenance – Planned downtime that is announced in advance.
