StatusDrift stores your monitoring data according to your subscription plan. This guide explains our data retention policies, how to access historical data, and what happens to your data in various scenarios.
Retention Periods by Plan
Each plan includes different data retention periods:

Accessing Historical Data
Monitor Detail Page
View historical data directly in the StatusDrift dashboard:
1. Go to Monitors and click on a monitor to open its detail page.
2. Use the time range dropdown (e.g., “Last 24 hours”) to view historical data.
3. Toggle between Total and Breakdown views on the Response Time Chart.
PDF Reports
Generate detailed PDF reports for individual monitors:
1. Navigate to a monitor’s detail page.
2. Click the Export PDF button in the top right corner.
Business plan users also have access to scheduled reports for automated delivery.
Data Export
You can request a full export of your data at any time:
1. Click your profile in the top right and select Settings.
2. Go to the Data Takeout tab.
3. Click Request Data Export.
When your export is ready, you can download it from the same page. Data exports include your account information, monitors, alerts, and notification settings.
Data Retention When Changing Plans
Upgrading
When you upgrade to a plan with longer retention, your existing data is preserved and the new retention period applies immediately. However, data already purged cannot be recovered.
Downgrading
When you downgrade, data older than your new plan’s retention period is deleted at the end of your current billing cycle. Deleted data cannot be recovered.
Canceling
After subscription cancellation:
- Your account converts to the Free plan
- Data beyond the Free plan retention limit (90 days) is deleted
- Monitors exceeding Free plan limits are paused
- Deleted data cannot be recovered
Data Deletion
Automatic Deletion
Data is automatically deleted when it exceeds your plan’s retention period. This process runs daily and cannot be reversed.
Manual Deletion
You can manually delete specific data:
- Monitor history: Delete a monitor to remove all its historical data
- Incident reports: Delete individual incidents from the incident history
- Account data: Request complete account deletion from Settings
Account Deletion
To permanently delete your account and all associated data:
1. Go to Settings and select the Account tab.
2. Check the confirmation box under “Delete Account”.
3. Click Deactivate Account.
All personal data and monitoring history will be permanently deleted. This action cannot be undone.
Extended Retention (Enterprise)
Enterprise customers can negotiate custom retention periods to meet their specific needs. Extended retention is available for:
- Compliance requirements (HIPAA, SOC 2, etc.)
- Long-term trend analysis
- SLA reporting and auditing

Data Security
All retained data is protected by:
- AES-256 encryption at rest
- TLS 1.3 encryption in transit
- Geographic redundancy across multiple data centers
- Regular backups with 99.999% durability
- Access controls and audit logging
